摘要: Introduction. Soft tissue defects exposing the Achilles tendon are challenging. Local perforator flaps represent a valuable option gaining increasing popularity. Despite preoperative planning an adequate cannot always be found intraoperatively. The free peroneal artery flap can serve as back-up limiting donor site morbidity to same extremity without sacrificing major vessels or nerves. Methods. Nine patients with soft were treated local flaps, seven scheduled for 180° propeller coverage after Doppler-ultrasound examination. However, in two (22%) no perforators As routinely mapped out, this was harvested microsurgical reconstruction. Results. One patient developed partial necrosis, another superficial epidermolysis, both requiring skingrafting. No complications seen transfer. Conclusion. Pedicled add options armamentarium of microsurgeons. thorough surgeons must prepared perform different method reconstruction if inadequate encountered. To limit additional morbidity, preferred. represents good it matches original properties closely. complication rate series is tolerable. Propeller should therefore considered alternative but not replacement fasciocutaneous flaps. © 2010 Wiley-Liss, Inc. Microsurgery 30:608–613, 2010.
