摘要: Abstract Ever growing populations in cities are associated with a major increase road vehicles and air pollution. The overall high levels of urban pollution have been shown to be significant risk city dwellers. However, the impacts very but temporally spatially restricted pollution, thus exposure, still poorly understood. Conventional approaches quality monitoring based on networks static sparse measurement stations. these prohibitively expensive capture tempo-spatial heterogeneity identify hotspots, which is required for development robust real-time strategies exposure control. Current progress developing low-cost micro-scale sensing technology radically changing conventional approach allow information capillary form. But question remains whether there value less accurate data they generate. This article illustrates drivers behind current rises use sensors management cities, while addressing challenges their effective implementation.
