摘要: Background and aims: There is some evidence of a cross-sectional, possibly causal, relationship lipid levels with leukocyte counts in mice humans. This study investigates the cross-sectional longitudinal blood lipoprotein UK Biobank cohort. Methods: The primary analysis included 417,132 participants valid data on measures counts. A subgroup was performed 333,668 lipoprotein(a). 9,058 baseline follow-up association analysed by multivariable linear regression. Results: Several relationships were significant both analysis. After adjustment for demographic, socioeconomic other confounding factors higher eosinophil count associated lower HDL cholesterol apolipoproteinA-I concentration (p<0.001). Higher triglycerides total leukocyte, basophil, eosinophil, monocyte neutrophil (all p<0.01). lymphocyte apolipoprotein B level In lipoprotein(a) inversely basophil men but not women Conclusion: Triglyceride demonstrate robust positive differential suggesting they may be directly involved leuokogenesis. However, unlike murine models, remainder these are modest which suggests that lipoproteins minimally leukogenesis
