摘要: Visit-to-visit clinic blood pressure variability (BPV) and 24-h BPV have both been identified as independent risk factors for cardiovascular (CV) morbidity mortality; however, the mechanisms contributing to increased CV yet are unclear. The purpose of this study was assess relationship between endothelial function in a cohort putatively healthy African Americans. A total 36 Americans who were sedentary, non-diabetic, non-smoking, free renal disease not on antihypertensive medication followed an American Heart Association low fat, salt diet 6 weeks. Upon completion 6-week dietary stabilization period, participants underwent ambulatory BP monitoring had their office (BP) measured 3 separate days. Right brachial artery diameter assessed at rest, during reactive hyperemia (flow-mediated vasodilation: FMD), after nitroglycerin administration (nitroglycerin-mediated NMD). Participants classified having decreased according either %FMD or FMD/NMD ratio significantly higher trend visit-to-visit when compared with normal function. Continuous variable analyses revealed significant positive association NMD diastolic (DBPV). systolic (SBPV), SBPV DBPV all negatively associated ratio. All relationships remained adjustment age, body mass index mean levels. These results may suggest that is vascular smooth muscle response nitric oxide.
