摘要: Abstract This work reports the production of di-n-butyl ether (DNBE) by means 1-butanol dehydration in liquid phase on acidic ion-exchange resins. Dehydration experiments were performed at 150 °C and 40 bar 13 styrene-codivinylbenzene ion exchangers different morphology. By comparing conversions to DNBE initial reaction rates it is concluded that oversulfonated resins are most active catalysts for whereas gel-type swell significantly medium as well macroreticular thermostable resin Amberlyst 70 selective DNBE. The highest yield was achieved 36. influence typical impurities also investigated showing presence 2-methyl-1-propanol (isobutanol) enhances formation branched ethers such 1-(1-methylpropoxy) butane 1-(2-methylpropoxy) butane, ethanol acetone yields ethyl butyl and, a much lesser extent, diethyl ether.
