Is vitamin D-fortified yogurt a value-added strategy for improving human health? A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized trials.

摘要: Yogurt is a good source of probiotics, calcium, and proteins, but its content vitamin D low. Therefore, yogurt could be choice for fortification to improve the positive health outcomes associated with consumption. The primary aim this systematic review meta-analysis was investigate effect D-fortified compared plain on levels serum 25-hydroxy (25OHD). secondary evaluate fortified parathyroid hormone, anthropometric parameters, blood pressure, glucose metabolism, lipid profile. We searched PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar eligible studies; that is, randomized controlled trials (RCT) control treatment without any additional supplement. Random-effects models were used estimate pooled sizes 95% confidence intervals. Findings from 9 RCT (n = 665 participants) lasted 8 16 wk are summarized in review. meta-analyzed mean differences random effects showed (from 400 2,000 IU) increased 25OHD by 31.00 nmol/L. In addition, decreased hormone 15.47 ng/L, body weight 0.92 kg, waist circumference 2.01 cm, HOMA-IR 2.18 mass units, fasting 22.54 mg/dL, total cholesterol 13.38 triglycerides 30.12 mg/dL treatments. No publication bias identified. Considerable between-study heterogeneity observed most outcomes. Vitamin may beneficial improving 25OHD, profile, parameters decreasing level pregnant women adult elderly subjects or diabetes, prediabetes, metabolic syndrome.
