摘要: SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS 1. The representation of the visual field in striate projection zone posterior portion superior temporal sulcus macaque (MT) was mapped with multiunit electrodes. animals were immobilized and anesthetized each animal 25-35 electrode penetrations typically made over several recording sessions. 2. MT contains a virtually entire contralateral field. vertical meridian forms its ventrolateral border lies near bottom lower bank (STS). horizontal runs across floor STS. upper is located ventral anterior dorsal posterior. medial at junction STS bank. 3. similar to cortex being first-order transformation In both areas, receptive-field size cortical magnification increase eccentricity. much smaller than has larger receptive fields given eccentricity cruder topography. 4. results further support suggestion that homologous area New World primates.
