摘要: It is important to understand photovoltaic (PV) module degradation for the design of PV systems. In present study results in mono-crystalline-silicon generator a solar water pump after 28 years outdoor exposure at western Himalayan location Indian state Himachal Pradesh, are presented. The main objective impact on performance, reliability and life-expectancy under field conditions. Main defects observed modules encapsulant discolouration, delamination, oxidation front grid fingers anti-reflective coating, glass breakage bubbles back sheet. Hot spots identified using thermal imaging quantified by measuring parameters indoor Sun simulator used test degraded standard testing Average power found increase 1.4% per year which reasonable considering materials technology about three decades ago. open circuit voltage show an average 2.8% requiring further experimental investigations. has relevance improving performance based systems beyond warranty period 25 replacing most modules. Follow up research areas also identified.
