摘要: Objectives: There are an increasing number of reports concerning mitral valve repair by reconstruction the chordae tendinae with use expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sutures. However, little information is available about extended application or results this technique for prolapse bilateral leaflets, which considered to be difficult repair. Methods: Between October 1993 and May 1998, 17 patients (age range 16‐74 years) who had from moderate severe regurgitation as result a leaflets underwent artificial CV-4 PTFE Either unilateral Kay’s suture annuloplasty was also performed correct annular dilatation in all patients. Results: No operative death late mortality observed. Before discharge, immediate postoperative echocardiography showed less than 16 The follow-up completed cases clinical examination serial echocardiograms, median period 52 months (range 27‐82 months). one failure that required re-operation because worsening (elongation anchored side papillary muscle). When re-operated patient excluded following data, degree regurgitation, estimated at recent follow-up, none four patients, trivial eight mild systolic diastolic dimensions left ventricle decreased significantly (P , 0:01). Conclusions: Because replacement not complicated seemed preserve fine relationships among leaflet tissues, chordae, muscles, we therefore suggest extensive appears promising procedure kinds lesions causing regurgitation. q 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
