摘要: There is no nationwide, population-based cancer registry in the Federal Republic of Germany (FRG). Only federal state Saarland, a region with about 1 000 inhabitants bordering on France, has reliably documented incidence malignant melanoma western Germany. The annual registered for this mid-1980s was 6/10 0000 both sexes (age-adjusted European standard population) (Garbe et al. 1986). increase 1970s by Saarland suggested that would double every 15 years This rate good agreement data from two internationally longest existing registries Denmark and Connecticut (USA) (Houghton 1980). However, question arises whether derived more rural area are representative entire FRG. Another drawback only diagnoses were registered, without detailed information histologic subtypes other or prognostic parameters documentation possible risk factors developing melanoma.
