摘要: In 1959 a boundary change in the Serengeti National Park excluded area inhabited by oryx antelope. During following years, only few solitary animals came temporarily into park. Beginning 1972, invaded southeastern part of park more frequently and larger numbers. Recent observations (1974–1975) show that are still visitors to Park, but there indications they may become resident future. Compared with population Tarangire wandering herds were characterized (a) frequent occurrence mixed some size, (b) absence subadults juveniles, (c) female groups. Small all-male groups, “harem” adult bulls recorded both areas. Oryx exhibit polyphasic rhythm daily activity. Except when large concentrations wildebeest arrive an area, do not avoid company other game species, although hardly interact them. A hierarchical organization was recognizable all groups observed. Generally ranked over cows, sometimes subadult or young-adult dominated high-ranking cows. Fights among quite frequent. addition spontaneous sparring matches, these agonistic interactions linked coordination group activities, frontal approaches members at close range, particularly grazing, strange joining herd. The severest fight observed took place between alpha-bull herd bull.
