摘要: Disclosed is the preparation of sintered cordierite-based glass-ceramic bodies via a procedure which uses three all natural starting materials are white sand, kaolin clay and magnesite. These raw materials, preferably sourced from same geographic area such as Saudi Arabia, combined in relative amounts form, upon subsequent mixing heating, specific mixture oxides silicon, aluminum magnesium. Upon melting at 1500-1550° C., this combination forms transparent brown glass after solidification by quenching then crushed reduced to grains having median particle size less than 65 microns. consolidated, for example compaction, form green body sintering. Sintering temperatures between about 1000° C. 1375° 2 5 hours produces containing polycrystalline material comprises mostly cordierite crystal structure. Such have density, microhardness, CTE dielectric constant properties make them suitable use various technical fields cookware, water filtration devices equipment, electronics.
