摘要: • Multiple short argon laser pulses can coagulate the retinal pigment epithelium selectively, while sparing adjacent neural retina and choroid; in contrast, continuous-wave irradiation typically damages choroid. The healing response to selective photocoagulation of was studied rabbits during a period 4 weeks. lesions were never visible ophthalmoscopically. During period, reformed by single sheet hypertrophic epithelial cells. In contrast photocoagulation, only minimal inflammatory found. Retinal cells showed clear signs viability, eg, phagocytized outer segments. local edema photoreceptor layer subretinal space found early stage disappeared when blood-retinal barrier reestablished. choriocapillaris remained unaffected. No subsequent damage photoreceptors This type may be useful for epithelium—related diseases, diffuse diabetic macular edema.
