摘要: One of the most prominent features cellular senescence, a stress response that prevents propagation cells have accumulated potentially oncogenic alterations, is permanent loss proliferative potential. Thus, at odds with quiescent cells, which resume proliferation when stimulated to do so, senescent cannot proceed through cell cycle even in presence mitogenic factors. Here, we describe set cytofluorometric techniques for studying how chemical and/or physical stimuli alter vitro, both qualitative and quantitative terms. Taken together, these methods allow identification bona fide cytostatic effects as well refined characterization distributions, providing information on proliferation, DNA content, phase-specific markers. At end chapter, guidelines offered assist researchers approach study interpretation results.
