摘要: Abstract A biodegradation system used to treat the discharged concentrated liquid effluents from a tuna-processing unit is described. The study includes characterisation of industrial effluents, design bioprocess treatment and testing its performance. effluent be treated contained 1570 mg/l suspended matter, 1450 fats, chemical oxygen demand (COD) 11 100 biochemical (BOD) 6600 mg/l. designed included physical pre-treatment remove fats solids through decanter, an anaerobic digester activated sludge aerated bio-reactor. allowed elimination 40% matter expressed in terms COD. transformed 45% dissolved COD into methane gas with production about 0.25 m 3 per kg degraded achieved 85% reduction An integrated system, combining three steps, permitted processing 1.2 COD/m day removal up 95% minimal energy consumption production.
