摘要: Abstract The optimization of hydraulic retention time (HRT) and initial organic matter concentration for dissolved carbon (DOC) abatement wastewater from a fish canning industry northern Portugal by activated sludge was investigated using response surface methodology (RSM). two parameters were chosen since it found that the treatment efficiency is mainly influenced them. experimental data on DOC removal fitted into quadratic polynomial model factorial design RSM. optimum process conditions determined analyzing three-dimensional plot solving regression equation. obtained results showed HRT 6.4 h an 406.2 mg/L as best conditions. Under these conditions, maximum predicted 88.0%, confirming feasibility reliability content removal.
