摘要: Purpose To evaluate the feasibility to detect tumors and metastases by chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI technique using 3-O-Methyl-D-glucose (3OMG), a nonmetabolizable derivative of glucose that is taken up rapidly preferentially entirely excreted kidneys. Methods In vivo CEST experiments were performed on Bruker 7 Tesla Biospec implanted orthotopic mammary mice before following i.p. injection 3OMG. The images generated series gradient-echo collected from single 1 mm coronal slice after 1.2 s presaturation pulse, applied at offsets ±1.2 ppm water B1 power 2.5 µT. Results Following 3OMG (1.5 g/kg) injection, an enhanced effect approximately 20% was visualized tumor within few minutes. signal slowly declined reaching half its maximum 80 min. Conclusion Due large low toxicity 3OMG-CEST may serve for detection in clinic. Magn Reson Med 72:1375–1380, 2014. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
