The first implementation of IMRT technique for head & neck and prostate cancer patients in public sector in Greece: feasibility, treatment planning and dose delivery verification using the delta(4PT) Pre-Treatment volumetric quality assurance system.

摘要: Purpose Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is nowadays the treatment of choice, in terms technique, for either head & neck or prostate cancer. With this paper, we are sharing our experience first inplementation IMRT planning public sector Greece, and especially Aretaieion University Hospital Athens. Methods From May 2013 until January 2014 four cancer patients were evaluated present study. We used ONCENTRA with a step shoot technique SIEMENS ONCORE Linac. The dose verification method was based on delta4(PT) Pre-Treatment volumetric quality assurance system, by Scadidos. Results In all cases, Relative Standard Deviation between prescribed calculated average received target volume less than 5%, while γ-index more 90%. acute toxicity low equivalent to published data technique. Conclusion conclusion, implementation Medical School Athens feasible safe as well verification. already clinical use further results long term radiation induced will be reported.
