摘要: Infrared pumping and its effect on the excitation of HCN molecules can be important when using rotational lines to probe dense molecular gas in galaxy nuclei. We report first extragalactic detection (sub)millimeter vibrationally excited HCN, dust-enshrouded nucleus luminous infrared NGC 4418. estimate temperature T-vib approximate 230 K between vibrational ground (v(2) = 1) states. This is most likely due radiation. At this high path through v(2) 1 state must have a strong impact level, although it may not dominant for all levels. Our observations also revealed nearly confusion-limited CO, HCO+, (HCN)-C-13, (HCN)-N-15, CS, N2H+, HC3N at lambda similar mm. Their relative intensities affected by pumping.
