摘要: Endotoxemia-induced inflammation has been associated with insulin resistance and atherosclerosis, ultimately increasing the risk of coronary heart disease. Increased intestinal permeability is an important event leading to endotoxemia. This study aims elucidate possible association between endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide) zonulin (a biomarker permeability) levels disease, thus healthy aging. Serum zonulin, lipopolysaccharide soluble CD14 protein that binds lipopolysaccharide) were measured in disease-free centenarians, young controls patients precocious acute myocardial infarction. Disease-free centenarians had significantly lower serum (P<0.01) (P<0.001) than infarction, concentrations (P<0.05). No significant differences found for groups. Our findings may stimulate further research into role played by endotoxemia not only disease but also lifespan modulation.
