High scolicidal effect of Zataria multiflora on protoccoleces of hydatid cyst: an in vitro study

摘要: Hydatidosis in humans and animals is an economic public health problem many parts of the world, surgery still main treatment for hydatid disease. One most important endpoints cyst recurrence. The cause recurrence dissemination protoscolices during surgical operation. Preoperative destruction cyst’s contents through instillation a scolicidal agent into commonly used approach to prevent this complication. Various agents have been inactivation content, but are accompanied by adverse side effects. In present study, effect methanolic extract Zataria multiflora investigated. Protoscoleces were aseptically collected from sheep livers containing experiments. Z. was at concentration 10 25 mg/ml 1, 2, 3 min. Viability protoscoleces confirmed 0.1% eosin staining. killed 68.9%, 93.7%, 100% protoccoleces after min respectively. 1 results study showed that has high activity might be as effective agent. This first report on multiflora.
