摘要: The boundaries of waveguides and nanowires have drastic influence on their coherent scattering properties. Designing the boundary profile is thus a promising approach for transmission band-gap engineering with many applications. By performing an experimental study microwave through rough we demonstrate that recently proposed surface theory can be employed to predict measured properties from profiles vice versa. A new key ingredient this mechanism which depends squared gradient profiles. We non-trivial effects by detailed mode-resolved measurements numerical simulations.
