摘要: This experiment aimed to evaluate the effect of environmental temperature upon morphometric characteristics fiber types in flexor hallucis longus muscle broilers pair-feeding, thus isolating voluntary feed intake. Sixteen male broiler, Ross, were allotted a completely randomized design with two treatments (heat stress and cold stress), seven nine replications, respectively. Forty-three-day-old heat stressed weighed 1.255 g those stress, pair-fed, 1.086 g. The birds subjected temperatures showed 22.82 27.93% white (FG - Fast Glycolytic), 52.76 47.67% intermediate (FOG Oxidative Glycolytic) 24.42 24.40% red (SO Slow Oxidative) fibers muscle, diameter FG was higher (48.69 mm), comparing pair-fed ones (37.74 mm). Temperature had no on number frequency fibers. associated restricted intake depressed growth reduced size broilers, but did not affect FOG SO type fibers, which have oxidative metabolism is production.
