摘要: A global review of mortality porpoises in gillnet fisheries indicates that individuals all six species become entangled and die gillnets. Harbor Phocoena phocoena are taken throughout their range several populations decline, at least partly as a result entanglement. The vaquita P. sinus is the most endangered cetacean species, northern Gulf California, Mexico, threaten single population with extinction. Burmeister's spinipinnis South America; Peru appear to be severely affected. In southern America, spectacled Australophocaena dioptrica known caught gillnets, but effects these takes unknown. Primarily western North Pacific, Dall's Phocoenoides dalli driftnet large numbers, so far major impacts have not been apparent. Although gillnets many areas Indo-Pacific region, only those finless porpoise Neophocaena phocaenoides China considered threatened by catches. circumstances, existing information insufficient evaluate on v severe. Gillnets represent important threat group, this may an example ‘no technical solution problem’. We conclude better documentation catches new approaches dealing porpoise/gillnet interaction problems needed order prevent loss populations.
