摘要: The purpose of this work was to determine the relationship between apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC, from diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI), extravascular, extracellular volume fraction (ve , dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) and histological measurement space fraction. Athymic nude mice were injected with either human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive (HER2+) BT474 (n = 15) or triple negative MDA-MB-231 20) breast cancer cells, treated Herceptin 8), Abraxane (low dose n 7, high 6), saline 7 for each cell line), imaged using DW- DCE-MRI before, during, after treatment. After final imaging acquisition, tissue resected evaluated by analysis. H&E-stained central slices scanned a digital brightfield microscope thresholding techniques calculate space. For both MDA-MB-231, median ADC slice exhibited significantly correlation corresponding as measured H&E (p 0.03, p 0.05). While correlates well histologically determined space, these data add growing body literature that suggests ve derived is not reliable biomarker range physiological conditions.
