摘要: Species evolution depends on numerous and distinct forces, including demography natural selection. For example, local adaptation population structure affect the evolutionary history of species living along environmental clines. This is particularly relevant in plants, which are often characterized by limited dispersal ability need to respond abiotic biotic stress factors specific environment. Here we study demographic possible existence two related Brassicaceae, Cardamine impatiens resedifolia, occupy separate habitats elevation gradient. Previous genome-wide analyses revealed occurrence selective pressures species, with genes involved cold response evolving fast C. resedifolia. In this surveyed patterns molecular genetic variability a set 19 genes, neutral candidate response, across 10 populations each resedifolia from Italian Alps (Trentino). We inferred tested signatures these genes. The results indicate that, despite slightly higher differentiation than impatiens, both only weakly structured that sampled at high altitude experience less gene flow low-altitude ones. None showed positive selection, suggesting they do not seem play roles current processes alpine environments species.
