摘要: Modern mobile devices comprise multiple interfaces for heterogeneous network technologies. However, currently implemented mechanisms to decide which one(s) use and distribute application flows accordingly (i.e., solving the multihomed flow management problem, MFM) are rather coarse do not leverage opportunities. A user-centric quality-aware (QA) MFM has been proposed optimises based on user-perceivable metrics such as quality well energy monetary costs. This paper refines this approach by providing a single method both real-time elastic TCP-based) traffic, uses realistic available capacity estimation. We evaluate in OPNET-simulated LTE WLAN networks. study impact of methods used trigger decision algorithm, investigate influence an increasing number users employing QA-MFM technique global performance. find that on-demand triggering performs better than static periodic method. also demonstrate out-performs classical selection techniques terms quality. show is too greedy scale with users, positive effect loads, preemptively adapting applications parameters match conditions.
