摘要: The present study evaluates efficacy of Sida rhomboidea.Roxb (SR) leaves extract in ameliorating experimental atherosclerosis using vitro and vivo models. Atherogenic (ATH) diet fed rats recorded significant increment the serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), very LDL (VLDL), autoantibody against oxidized (Ox-LDL), markers oxidation decrement high-density (HDL) along with aortic TC TG. ex assay revealed an increased susceptibility isolated from ATH to undergo copper mediated oxidation. These set changes were minimized by simultaneous co-supplementation SR rats. Histopathology aorta immunolocalization studies pronounced atheromatous plaque formation, vascular calcification, elastin derangements higher expression macrophage surface marker (F4/80), cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) p-selectin Whereas, ATH+SR depicted minimal evidence calcium deposition, distortion/defragmentation accumulation macrophages lowered VCAM-1 P-selectin compared Further, monocyte differentiation foam formation significantly attenuated presence extract. In conclusion, has potency controlling can be used as promising herbal supplement combating atherosclerosis.
