摘要: Abstract Many conditions can compromise facial symmetry, resulting in an impairment of the affected person from both esthetic and functional points view. For these reasons, a detailed, focused, objective evaluation asymmetry is needed, for surgical planning treatment evaluation. In this study, we present new quantitative method to assess symmetry different thirds, objectively defined on territories distribution trigeminal branches. A total 70 subjects (40 healthy controls 30 patients with unilateral palsy) participated. stereophotogrammetric system level subjects' hemi-facial thirds was evaluated, comparing root mean square distances (RMSD) between their original mirrored surfaces. Results show high average reproducibility area selection (98.8%) significant differences RMSD values (p = 0.000) all thirds. No were found among (p > 0.05), whereas upper, middle, lower (p = 0.000). The presented provides accurate, reproducible, local analysis that be used conditions, especially when only part face asymmetric.
