Satellite Altimetry Applications off the Coasts of North America

摘要: In many ways applications of satellite altimetry along the coasts North America are representative similar elsewhere in world. On east coast, has a fairly broad continental shelf which impacts coastal more than relatively narrow west coast. The Gulf Mexico is unique region where mapping ocean currents significantly successful using traditional measurements sea surface temperature and color. Meteorological conditions differ strongly between with corresponding impact on use altimetry. Also there have been studies altimeter data coast America. We summarize here past altimetric for all three regions (West East Coasts Mexico) briefly discuss implications tidal effects, water vapor corrections, need retracking near waveforms.
