Perceived quality of interprofessional interactions between physicians and nurses in oncology outpatient clinics

摘要: Abstract Purpose To evaluate the perceived quality of interactions between nurses and physicians in oncology outpatient clinics. Methods A cross-sectional, observational survey involving 250 was conducted at clinics two regional cancer centres province Ontario, Canada. Eligible participants were identified by administrators invited to complete a one-time questionnaire. Quality assessed using seven-item relational coordination, which measures factors interaction: supportive relationships communication. Descriptive analyses multivariate variance (MANOVA) assess potential differences study sites professional groups. Results Overall, both rated their highly (mean = 4.32 4.51 out 5 for communication, respectively). No difference either factor reported site, but differed significantly [ F (2, 245) = 7.54, p Conclusions oncologists levels interprofessional interaction highly. Contextual may have contributed high scores different ratings centres. The finding that similar suggests these are collaborative collegial.
