摘要: Abstract The oxidation of methane on alumina-supported platinum catalysts has been investigated for various gas mixtures as a function the state or reduction surface. It shown that activity goes through sharp maximum few seconds after introduction reactants to either pre-reduced pre-oxidised catalyst. results are inter-preted in terms Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism which optimum rate reaction corresponds surface partially covered by both oxygen- and carbon-containing species. position is very reproducible but varies an imprecise manner catalysts. These effects thought be related morphological changes reduced subsequently re-oxidised small particles. appears even re-oxidation at 300°C these particles have strong ‘memory’ previous treatments.
