摘要: THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE, TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP, AND EFFECTIVENESS IN SCHOOL PRINCIPALS by Elizabeth Box Hebert In the rapidly changing school environment effective principals are needed to make necessary changes while also developing a culture of shared responsibility and community (Hallinger & Heck, 1998; Leithwood Jantzi, 1999). The correlation between transformational leadership emotional intelligence was investigated in this quantitative study principals. Also included research investigation relationship each construct effectiveness as perceived their teachers. sample composed 30 elementary, middle, high five seven teachers who worked with principal from schools within United States. An score for obtained administering Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT). Teachers completed rater form Multi-Factor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5X). This yielded mean score, leader scores other non-transformational styles. Correlations were analyzed conclude that there is positive leadership, Pearson’s r(30) = .37, p < .05. A correlational both intelligence, .38, .05, .90, .01, evident. Analyzing different styles mixed results. Findings indicate exists contingent reward .38 , no significant evident Based on results study, it concluded future could better develop skills becoming more aware strengths weakness area along improving behaviors.
