摘要: Facial vein (cheek blood) and caudal (tail phlebotomy are two commonly used techniques for obtaining blood samples from laboratory mice, while automated sampling through a permanent catheter is relatively new technique in mice. The present study compared physiological parameters, glucocorticoid dynamics as well the behavior of mice sampled repeatedly 24h by cheek blood, tail or carotid artery. Mice subjected to lost significantly more body weight, had elevated levels plasma corticosterone, excreted fecal corticosterone metabolites, expressed anxious than did other groups. Plasma were also elevated, although less significantly. affected with regard parameters measured, behavior. We conclude that repeated stressful sampling. choice between should be based on requirements, resources skills staff.
