Although many clinical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness endoscopic approach IP, only a few published reports studied efficacy surgery recurrent and surgical has been subject much debate. In this study, our objective was to demonstrate limitations 3 different procedures used treatment IP. From January 2001 June 2008, 26 patients with IP were treated surgery. Previous surgeries included 5 cases lateral rhinotomy 21 endonasal With preoperative computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging, we attempted identify sites origin attachment Three types resection used: basically, purely tumors arising from nasal wall, ethmoid sinus, frontal sinus; endoscope-assisted medial maxillectomy originating wall maxillary combination Caldwell-Luc procedure involving anterior, inferior, superior, portion sinus. Efficacy evaluated strictly by examination in mean follow-up 28.2 months (range, 13-42 mo). performed 6, 10, 10 patients, respectively. had residual recurrence within 2 after resection. One tumor confirmed malignant. There no major complications encountered patients. conclusion, strategies are modulated relation tumor.
