Evolution of endoscopic surgery in the treatment of inverted papilloma

摘要: Inverted papilloma (IP) has several treatment avenues. The endoscopic approach in the last decade proven to be a good option over traditional approach. OBJECTIVE: Describe epidemiological profile of patients with inverted Papilloma, describe our experience on managing this tumor and compare data literature. Study Design: Cross-sectional, historical cohort. METHOD: Retrospective study medical records 17 treated for histopathologicallyconfirmed between 2005 2011. We assessed age, gender, side, symptoms, diagnosis, comorbidities habits, Krouse staging, surgical approach, intraoperative postoperative, malignant postoperative recurrence also correlation preoperative used, presence malignancy. RESULTS: Five (29.41%) were classified as stage T2, 9 (52.94%) T3 3 (17.65%) T4. Three had malignancy rate was 23.5% (4 pacients). Eleven (64.70%) underwent (17.6%) combined aprroach (endoscopic assisted) external CONCLUSION: is currently becoming method not only effective but safe more advanced stages IP.
