摘要: Activation of p-type III-V semiconductors with cesium and oxygen has been widely used to prepare negative electron affinity (NEA) photocathodes. However, the nature chemical species on surface after activation is not well understood. In this study, InP NEA photocathodes activated are studied using synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy, also called photoemission. Based O 1s core level as valence band spectra, Cs peroxide superoxide identified surface. Transformation from observed activation, probably major reason for decay quantum yield photocathode. The oxidation substrate elapse time, adding yield.
