Transition metal ions in glasses: Network modifiers or quasi-molecular complexes?

摘要: Abstract Transition metal ions dissolve in silicate, phosphate, and borate glasses as molecular units, quasi-molecular complexes, occupants of large, framework structure-controlled sites depending on size ionic charge. Raman spectra optical absorption support this hypothesis offer a new interpretation for the assignment certain transition to tetrahedral glass structure.
