摘要: The extracellular matrix (ECM) is a network of secreted proteins that, beyond providing support for tissues and organs, involved in the regulation variety cell functions, including proliferation, polarity, migration oncogenic transformation. ECM homeostasis maintained through tightly controlled balance between synthesis, deposition degradation. While role metalloproteases degradation widely recognised, contribution internalisation intracellular to maintenance has been mostly overlooked. In this review, I will summarise what known about molecular mechanisms mediating endocytosis how process impacts on diseases, such as fibrosis cancer.
