This paper aims at describing and characteristics all new cutaneous malignant cases 1985-1992 reported to Granada Cancer Registry (Spain) context Mediterranean populations. A population-based study with 247 was carried out. The variables used were: sex, age, anatomic site, hystological type, level invasion tumour thickness. Age-Standardised Rate per World population (ASRW) 2.9 for males 3.7 females whole period. An increasing trend both found. ASRW 1985-1987, 1988-1990 1991-1992 respectively 2.2, 3.2 3, 3.4, 4.7 females. most frequent location trunk (36%) lower extremities (44%). type superficial spreading melanoma. Seventy-six percent 60% were diagnosed Clark's III or over. Average thickness 3.3 mm 2.4 results this can be a guidance setting up health policies would contribute prevention disease an improvement care. Because rates high percentage advanced stages, it is advised that campaigns are addressed population.
