摘要: Fast and appropriate therapy is the cornerstone in of sepsis. However, discrimination sepsis from non-infectious causes inflammation may be difficult. Biomarkers have been suggested to aid physicians this decision. There currently no biochemical technique available which alone allows a rapid reliable between inflammation. Procalcitonin (PCT) most investigated biomarker for purpose. C-reactive protein interleukin 6 perform inferior PCT studies their value diagnosing not defined. All biomarkers including are also released after various inflammatory impacts. This shortcoming needs taken into account when used physician diagnosis Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based pathogen detection improve time adequate but cannot rule out presence infection negative.
