摘要: Nine prospective studies have now reported on the association between endogenous sex hormone levels in postmenopausal women and subsequent breast cancer risk (Moore et al, 1986; Wysowski 1987; Barrett-Connor 1990; Gordon Garland 1992; Helzlsouer 1994; Toniolo 1995; Berrino 1996; Dorgan Thomas 1997; Zeleniuch-Jacquotte Hankinson 1998; Cauley 1999; Kabuto 2000). The Endogenous Hormones Breast Cancer Collaborative Group (TEHBCCG) conducted a pooled analysis of original data these concluded that both oestrogen androgen hormones were strongly associated with (TEHBCCG, 2002). Remaining questions include how long prior to diagnosis associations are observed whether androgens play part independent their role as substrates for production. New York University (NYU) Women's Health Study was one first report positive oestrogens (Toniolo 1995). We expand here our initial results based 130 cases analyses 85 analyses. present includes 297 diagnosed 6 months 12.7 years after enrollment study. This study has nearly twice many any previously published cohort Owing large sample size extended follow-up, we able assess serum samples collected five or more diagnosis. To explore presence growing an increase circulating levels, also examined rate change per year sex-hormone binding globulin (SHBG) 95 matched controls who contributed second blood donation within 5
