摘要: Trifolium occidentale D.E. Coombe is a diploid, clonal perennial clover that very closely related to white (T. repens L.). It has been previously reported be self-pollinating and lacking in genetic diversity. However, new collections, especially Spain Portugal, have revealed cross-pollinating populations with substantial diversity do exist. This led T. being investigated as potential model species facilitate the application of genomic methods for improvement clover. Investigations shown many attributes make it suitable forms hybrids chromosomes two pair recombine at meiosis. Phylogenetic research shows close relative, probably an ancestor, A framework linkage map based on SSR markers highly syntenic protocol efficient transformation developed. An effective EMS mutagenesis method demonstrated by induction high frequency condensed tannin negative mutants. The nature not shared other dicotyledonous species. may, therefore, useful characterisation traits associated growth perenniality this wider class plants.
