摘要: Abstract The afferent inputs from phrenic nerve stimulation to the lateral reticular formation of lower brain stem were studied in anesthetized spontaneously breathing cats. activity neurons was recorded by means extracellular tungsten microelectrodes. Electrical central end right evoked excitatory or inhibitory responses nucleus (LRN), ambiguus (AMB) and a region dorsal AMB ipsi- contralateral sides. Phrenic afferents belonging flexor reflex group involved these responses. discharge pattern respiratory related units (RRU) exceptionally affectec stimulations. It is concluded that high threshold relay LRN before projecting cerebellar cortex. overlapping non-respiratory may participate adaptations somatomotor functions during specific behaviors.
