摘要: The homocysteine hypothesis states that circulating is a vascular toxin in concentrations occur the general population and renal failure. This currently being tested Kidney End State Renal Disease Study (HOST), but data have emerged since HOST began suggest its results will be inconclusive. crucial treatment component folic acid, effect likely to lost because American food supply now fortified with acid. A second concern very high doses of acid pyridoxine used may confound results. Finally, confounding due ‘reverse epidemiology' was not considered when designed. Parenteral vitamin B 12 highly promising therapy for reduction end-stage disease merits careful investigation. Clinical trials using it test avoid problems inherent HOST.
