Growing Teratoma Syndrome Treated by Interferon alpha-2β: Case Report and Literature Review

摘要: A 14-year old girl was diagnosed as suffering from an immature teratoma. As removal of the teratoma technically unfeasible, patient started on interferon α 2β, 3 MU/day, 5 days per week. On this therapy, growth stopped and has been well for past 50 months. She continues to be treated with almost no side effects restrictions her everyday activities, a good quality life. is able attend school regularly, travels abroad frequently, participates fully in activities normal age social conditions. Her Karnofsky performance status 100. This case demonstrates efficacy 2β therapy certain instances growing syndrome, even when tumorous mass initially quite large.
