摘要: Objective: To provide an overview of the mental health Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents rural remote Australia to identify associated factors. Findings: Indigenous Australians have higher rates serious disorders problems with social disadvantage. This disadvantage is greater for living outside metropolitan centres. Contrary romanticised constructions Australia, those in such settings are not immune hardship -which often unrelenting. The psychological behavioural that emerge as a result compounded by narrowly focused inadequate services, children being particularly vulnerable. Conclusion: experience high levels disorder. Although addressing predisposing will demand significant whole-of-government investment, ensuring equitable access effective services immediate priority. © 2007 Author; Journal Compilation
