摘要: The Wallstent biliary endoprosthesis is a mesh of stainless steel that delivered percutaneously over 7-French catheter but expands to achieve 1-cm lumen when released across bile-duct stricture. small transhepatic track required makes insertion easier, less painful, and probably safer compared with plastic stents, the large internal reduces rate occlusion by encrusted bile. endoprostheses were inserted under local anesthesia in 41 consecutive patients malignant obstructive jaundice. Biliary drainage was considered treatment choice all these patients. diagnosis based on biopsy results 32 radiologic appearances nine. followed up outpatient clinics for 16 months had repeated examinations only if they symptoms suggesting stent occlusion.
