摘要: The possibility that antiserum to tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is neuroprotective in spinal cord injury (SCI) was examined a rat model. SCI produced by making an incision into the right dorsal horn at T10–11 segments. Topical application of TNF-a three concentrations (1:10; 1:50 and 1:100) given 30 min before or 2 min, 5 10 after trauma resulted marked reduction visible swelling, edema formation, leakage radiolabelled iodine tracer within T9 T12 segments h dose dependent manner. This effect most pronounced when highest level (1:10) applied SCI. also reduced induced upregulation neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) immunoreactivity concentration Taken together, these results suggest local TNF-α this mediated through NOS regulation.
