摘要: The article presents the results of experimental investigation on three-body abrasive wear behavior nanoclay-filled EVA/LDPE (NC-EVA/LDPE) composites. NC-EVA/LDPE composites with and without compatibilizer were prepared by Brabender Co-Twin extruder (Make: CMEI, Model: 16CME, SPL) poly(ethylene-co-glycidyl methacrylate) was used as compatibilizer. mechanical properties evaluated using Universal testing machine. In tests, silica sand particles size 200–250 μm dry loose abrasives. Three-body studies carried out sand/rubber wheel abrasion test rig. effect abrading distance neat EVA, EVA/LDPE, reported. showed that volume loss is increased increase in specific rate decreased distance. However, presence nanoclay filler composite a promising trend. Abrasive correlated such hardness, tensile strength, percentage elongation. higher weight LDPE EVA rate. indicate exhibits good resistance compared Attempts to explain these differing trends are made this work analyzing features observed worn surface samples employing scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
